Hello everyone.

This is a bit of a different devlog, just to let you all know what has happened in the last week.

The plan for Halloween was, at first, going to be an early release of Dead Heat's demo. You all have been waiting for almost a year for this new demo, and we are aching to get it to you, however, this version of the demo would not have contained the voice acting that will be in the final version of the demo. The recording and mastering of almost 200 lines of dialogue each would have been way too much to handle in such a short amount of time, so we decided to move the VA recording to November instead, so we could give it the attention it deserves.

On Sunday, both our Tech Artist and Programmer contacted me to let me know they are leaving the project. This was pretty devastating to hear, but reality doesn't stop for games development. They each left for their own reasons which I will not get into here and I wish them all the best. Working with them has been an absolute pleasure.

This has left the project with two vacant positions that I needed to fill before the end of the week, this naturally meant that there would be less time to work on the merge and polishing up the demo for Halloween. Along with this, talking with our environment artist showed that it would be almost impossible to get the new areas ready for Halloween, as the material creation alone would take days.

I am very sorry but the Halloween demo will not be happening. We will push release of the demo back to mid November to give our new team members time to get acquainted with Dead Heat's systems, our artists time to work on the beautiful new environments and fill them with perfectly fitting ambient sound, and time for the voice actors to get invested in their roles.

It is simply not feasible to release anything this soon with all that has happened. And I don't want you guys to be playing another half baked demo that doesn't show off what the game will be.
