Apartment Updates

Hello everyone and welcome to our end of week devlog!

This week has been truly something. After weeks of work, we were not able to meet the Halloween deadline, which is for the best as we can now give the rest of the demo the time it needs to be the best it can be. I would rather give you guys a finished beautiful demo than a broken one rushed out to hit Halloween.

I want to start this off with a note about October: This Halloween has been a very stressful time. There was a lot of things that didn't go according to plan, and when I tried to correct it, it only made things worse. There are a lot of lessons I've learned from this month, among them being to know when something simply will not be ready in time, and to not set deadlines on such short notice. Lesson's I will not soon forget.

This week we made rapid progress with the new Hell's Kitchen environment and Sonja's apartment. The apartment building front is almost complete, with just a couple of details required to finish it off for the demo. Only the front of the building will be built for the demo, the back of the building will need to be added in the full version of the game.

Most of the surrounding area just requires materials and decal adding. Finnegan's bar being one which just needs a little extra detail.

Another building was finished earlier today, one of the old world buildings of our time, broken and left to rot in favour of more lavish gothic buildings. These are the most interesting to design, since it is just taking ultra modern buildings that may have been built less than 5 years ago and seeing what they would look like around 50 years from now. Seeing how they've gained all this wear and tear.

The Hell's Kitchen area is coming along nicely, and should be fully completed in just under a week or so, leaving Sonja's Apartment as the last area of the demo left to be built. The blockout for the apartment is already completed and is now a matter of filling it with decals and furniture.

On the mechanics side, we have found a couple of new freelance programmers interested in joining the project. They will be joining the project fully next week to begin work on the new lip sync system and finish off work on the evidence system.

We will also be looking into arranging recording sessions with our Voice Actors over the next couple of weeks.

We will keep you all updated regularly as updates are made on Twitter and our Discord Server: https://discord.gg/r8rQv6h

And remember, if you like the project and want to support us, please donate to the project's patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/DeadHeat

Every little helps keep us going!

Thank you for reading our devlog! We hope you will join us next Sunday!
