Lilith Troy

Hello everyone and welcome to our end of week devlog for Dead Heat.

This week, we made some great progress with Lilith Troy's model, and finishing up work on the apartment level.

Lilith's model has seen some great progress this week. Her face was given some new details such as scars and healed over patches of missing skin from her time as a full zombie. These details all tell little stories about her time in the dark age and what her zombie self went through.

As you will see with other zombies in the full game, Lilith has gotten off rather lightly. We debated whether her red marks looked oxidized enough, having the marks a darker more orange/brown colour made them stand out less from a distance, so we decided to keep them the shade of red they are for now.

Her body also saw some improvements. Details to her jacket, shirt, stomach, jeans and boots were all added to give her look much more personality than her original design.

This new design will be improved on soon with new graphics for her shirt and jacket back adding more detail. For Lilith, we wanted her outfit to be almost the opposite of Sonja's. While Sonja's outfit was darker with reserved shades of royal purple to signify elegance and high societal standing, with a revealing corset to add sex appeal. Lilith's outfit is much more practical with sentimental touches. She wears a traditional bikers jacket with a tattered shirt underneath from the old world with (what will be) a design from a metal band only she seems to remember.

Also, it just happens to be the shirt she died in. You don't just throw away something like that!

The exposed stomach also adds some unintentional sex appeal to her which she can use to her advantage.

We also began work on adding in the animated backgrounds for the apartments this week. We have all of the foreground masks and background masks ready to be used for the scenes, now it is just a matter of putting them all together.

Should be about a days work, so stay tuned for those coming up in the next week. Once the scenes are all ready and the menus are all in place, we will release a WIP demo here on itch.io for everyone to try. We just have two models left to complete and the old demo will be fully transformed!

Thank you for reading our end of week devlog for Dead Heat. We hope to see you next time!
